A 57-year-old Statesville resident, Lisa Gant Turner of Log Cabin Road, was arrested on Sunday, January 12, by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. Turner faces charges of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
The arrest followed a traffic stop initiated by a deputy on a Chevrolet Equinox due to an expired vehicle registration. During the stop, deputies recognized Turner and associated her with a recent narcotics-related search at her residence.
A K-9 officer performed an exterior sniff of the vehicle, which indicated the presence of narcotics. A subsequent search revealed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside Turner’s purse.
Turner was taken into custody and placed in the Iredell County Detention Center without bond due to the fact that she was already out on bond for previous charges. This arrest highlights ongoing efforts by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office to address drug-related activities in the community.
