Six Charged in Illegal Street Takeover in Iredell County

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities responded to reports of careless and reckless driving near the 400 block of Barfield Road on Monday, December 30, 2024. The incident was later identified as an illegal street takeover that had completely blocked the roadway.

Troopers from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol arrived at approximately 5:10 p.m. and conducted an investigation in collaboration with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Department.

As a result, six trucks were seized and impounded. Five adults and one juvenile face multiple charges, including careless and reckless driving, street takeover, and injury to real property.

The adults charged are:

  • Eli Chance Pharr, 18, of Stony Point
  • Gage Myquea Angel Jr., 20, of Cleveland
  • Isaiah Antonio Villegas, 27, of Statesville
  • Nicholas James Lufkin, 20, of Mooresville
  • Nathaniel Madison Harris, 27, of Statesville

The juvenile’s identity has not been released due to age-related privacy laws.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol expressed its gratitude to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance in the investigation.
