Raleigh, NC – North Carolinians who received unemployment benefits in 2024 can now access their IRS Form 1099-G through their MyNCUIBenefits account on the N.C. Division of Employment Security (DES) website. Paper copies will be mailed by January 31 to those who requested them, with delivery expected in early February.
The 1099-G form details total unemployment benefits received in 2024 and any state or federal taxes withheld. Since unemployment benefits are taxable income, recipients must use this information when filing tax returns. This year, DES generated nearly 108,000 forms.
How to Access the 1099-G Form Online
- Visit des.nc.gov and log in to your MyNCUIBenefits account.
- Click “View My 1099G” in the left-side menu.
Individuals who believe their 1099-G contains incorrect information can contact the DES Customer Call Center at 888-737-0259 for assistance.
