Winston Avenue in Statesville will be temporarily closed at 1109 Winston Avenue beginning Tuesday, April 29, and continuing through Friday, May 2. The closure is necessary to allow for the installation of sewer services at the new Municipal Operations Center.
During this time, detour routes will be in place to help manage traffic flow in the area.
For eastbound traffic (originating from Belfast Road), the suggested detour is Slingshot Road to Buffalo Shoals Road, then onto Garner Bagnal Boulevard and Wilson Lee Boulevard, returning to Winston Avenue.
For westbound traffic (approaching from Winston Avenue), drivers should use Wilson Lee Boulevard to Garner Bagnal Boulevard, then Buffalo Shoals Road to Slingshot Road, and reconnect to Belfast Road.
Detour signs will be posted along the route to assist drivers. Motorists are encouraged to follow all posted signage and exercise caution in the area.
