Vehicle Break-In Suspect Arrested Following Investigation in Iredell County

On November 28, officers responded to multiple reports of vehicle break-ins in areas around the Iredell County Fairgrounds. According to investigators, several vehicles had windows damaged, allowing a suspect to enter and take items from inside.

During the investigation, officers identified a possible suspect vehicle. On November 29, the vehicle was located traveling on Charlotte Highway, and officers conducted a traffic stop. The driver, Sidney Truesdale, 41, of Matthews, was found to be in possession of items reported stolen during the previous day’s incidents, police said.

Truesdale was arrested and charged with eight counts of felony breaking or entering a motor vehicle, one count of felony larceny, five counts of misdemeanor larceny, and eight counts of property damage. He was also served with outstanding warrants from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department related to breaking and entering motor vehicles.

He was taken before a magistrate and ordered to be held without bond. Prior to this arrest, Truesdale had been on pre-trial release for more than 40 charges in Mecklenburg County, including breaking and entering motor vehicles and possession of a firearm by a felon.
