The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two individuals following an investigation into allegations of child abuse involving three children, ages one to nine.

According to Sheriff Darren E. Campbell, the Special Victims Unit received a report on Thursday, September 25, 2025, concerning possible child abuse. The case was assigned to Detective R. Olson, who worked in coordination with the Iredell County Department of Social Services (DSS).

Due to the nature of the allegations, DSS conducted drug testing on the children and their parents, identified as 36-year-old Kyle Robert Crill and 30-year-old Lora Lee Estes. Toxicology results from two separate tests confirmed that both adults tested positive for cocaine and marijuana. All three children also tested positive for cocaine exposure.

During interviews with investigators, both Crill and Estes admitted to using cocaine and to leaving the substance accessible inside their home, within reach of the children.

Following the investigation, each suspect was charged with three counts of felony child abuse. Both were arrested and received a $350,000 secured bond from Magistrate Imes.

The Sheriff’s Office stated that the investigation remains ongoing and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the safety and well-being of children in the community.
