Emergency Communications advised that the suspect was inside the residence and armed with a rifle. The victim had already left the home and met with officers.
Police secured the area and used a drone to monitor the residence. A department negotiator contacted the suspect, identified as 44-year-old Marlon Morris of Troutman, by phone. Morris agreed to exit the residence and was arrested for assault on a female.
