Troutman Man Arrested After Fentanyl Found During Traffic Stop

On May 21, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Troutman police officers conducted a traffic stop on Charlotte Highway near Julian Place. The vehicle was reportedly displaying a fictitious license tag.

During the stop, officers identified the driver as Brandon Scott Brooks, 29, of Troutman. While interacting with Brooks, one of the officers discovered a container on his person that allegedly contained fentanyl.

Brooks was arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while license revoked. He was taken before a magistrate and held on a $10,000 secured bond.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
