The intersection of Meeting Street and Water Street in downtown Statesville will soon see a new traffic pattern as part of the final phase of the Water and Meeting Street Improvements Project.
According to city officials, final striping of the roadway is scheduled for July 10 or 11, weather permitting. Once that work is complete, the intersection will be converted to a 3-way stop.
New signage will be installed in advance to alert drivers to the upcoming change. Motorists are encouraged to use caution as the new traffic pattern is implemented.
The traffic change is part of the City of Statesville’s broader effort to improve safety and traffic flow in the downtown area.
