Stockton Street in Statesville will be closed for utility work on Monday, May 5, and Tuesday, May 6. The closure will take place from North Center Street, near Hardee’s, to Gordon Street.
On May 5, the closure will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., and on May 6, it will extend from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. The temporary closure is necessary for Statesville Public Power to replace a power pole in the area. After the electrical work is completed, communications crews will transfer related communication lines to the new pole.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead and use alternate routes during these times to avoid delays. City officials appreciate the public’s patience as the necessary upgrades are made to improve infrastructure.
