Mooresville, NC — The North Carolina Department of Transportation has announced temporary overnight road closures on Wednesday, June 12, and Friday, June 13, as part of ongoing work on the NC 150 widening project.

According to NCDOT officials, contract crews will be installing storm drainage systems in the area, requiring nighttime access restrictions near the Festival Shopping Center. The closures will be in place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night, weather permitting.

On Wednesday night, June 12, the main entrance to the shopping center that includes Belk, Kohl’s, and Big Lots will be closed. Motorists should use the alternate entrance located next to Belk.

On Friday night, June 13, Straightaway Drive will be closed. A signed detour will direct traffic to travel east on NC 150, turn north on Corporate Center Drive, then turn west at the stop sign on Oates Road to reconnect with Straightaway Drive.

Drivers are urged to be cautious near the work zone, follow posted speed limits, and allow extra travel time during these closures. For continued updates, residents are encouraged to monitor local traffic advisories.
