A Statesville man was arrested early Sunday following a traffic stop conducted by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies charged 41-year-old John Antonio Ikard of Lakeview Drive with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the sheriff’s office, a deputy stopped a vehicle around 2 a.m. Sunday. During the stop, the officer noted signs of possible criminal activity and asked both the driver and passenger to step out of the vehicle. A subsequent search led to the discovery of methamphetamine in Ikard’s possession.
Ikard was taken into custody and booked at the Iredell County Detention Center under a $7,500 secured bond. He was scheduled to appear in Iredell County District Court on Tuesday, September 2.
