Stony Point Man Arrested

by | Dec 17, 2025

A 29-year-old Stony Point man was arrested earlier this month following an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Jacob Lloyd Fountain was taken into custody on December 9 and charged with assault by strangulation inflicting serious injury and communicating threats. Deputies allege the charges stem from an incident involving significant injury to the victim, though no additional details have been released by authorities.

Fountain was booked into the Iredell County Detention Center under a $12,500 secured bond. Jail records indicate his custody status was updated on December 12 at 3:14 p.m., at which time he was released under a general release and is currently listed as out of custody.

Records further show Fountain had recently completed a term of supervised probation related to a separate, unspecified offense. That community supervision began on February 26, 2025, and officially ended on November 23, 2025. His supervision status is now listed as inactive, with the status change recorded on December 12.

Fountain is scheduled to appear in court on December 29 in Statesville, where the charges will be addressed.

All charges are allegations, and Fountain is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
