Iredell County Sheriff’s officers arrested 56-year-old Susan Carol Montgomery of Filly Trail in Statesville on multiple felony and misdemeanor drug charges. She faces felony counts of trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substance use, and possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, as well as misdemeanor simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.
On October 30, 2025, a deputy observed Montgomery driving a Dodge Ram along Wilkesboro Highway. A traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of Wilkesboro Highway and Bowles Farm Road after deputies confirmed she did not have a valid driver’s license.
During the stop, deputies suspected Montgomery might be transporting illegal drugs. A second deputy and his K9 partner assisted, and the K9 indicated the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed approximately 66.7 grams of methamphetamine, 2.49 grams of heroin, nine Xanax pills, multiple drug pipes, and a digital scale concealed inside the truck.
Montgomery was taken into custody and appeared before Magistrate Watkins. She was booked into the Iredell County Detention Center and held without bond due to outstanding charges.
