Statesville Updates Parking Enforcement and Payment System

by | Oct 13, 2025

The City of Statesville is updating its parking enforcement and permitting systems to improve service for residents, businesses, and visitors. The new procedures will take effect on October 15, 2025.

Parking tickets issued on or after that date can be paid online through a new payment system or in person at the City’s Customer Service Office at 301 South Center Street. Tickets issued before October 15 must still be paid under the current system, either by mail or in person.

Fine amounts will also change under the new policy. Standard overtime or prohibited zone parking violations will carry a $15 fine, up from $10. Fire hydrant violations will be $25, and handicap violations will cost $50. A $30 late fee will apply if a fine is not paid within 14 days.

Anyone receiving a ticket may submit an online appeal within 10 days of the citation date, providing an explanation and supporting documentation. Late or incomplete appeals will not be accepted. If an appeal is approved, the ticket will be dismissed; if denied, payment must be made within 14 days to avoid a late fee.

Frequent violators may face additional penalties. Vehicles or registered owners with three or more unpaid tickets could have their vehicle booted on the fourth violation. All fines must be paid within 24 hours to remove the boot, or the vehicle may be towed at the owner’s expense. To retrieve a towed vehicle, owners must first obtain a release letter from the Statesville Police Department after paying all outstanding fines and then pay towing and storage fees directly to the towing company.
