by | Sep 26, 2025

The City of Statesville will begin its annual loose-leaf collection program on Monday, October 20, 2025. Crews will follow the city’s established five-area collection schedule, starting in Area One and continuing through the remaining areas. The cycle will repeat throughout the fall and winter to ensure all neighborhoods are covered.

Collection areas include:
Area One – South of W. Front Street and west of S. Center Street/Shelton Avenue, including Beechnut, Bristol Road, Wilson Lee Blvd, and Wallace Springs Road neighborhoods.
Area Two – South of E. Broad Street and east of S. Center Street/Shelton Avenue, covering areas such as E. Raleigh Avenue, Charles Street, East Side Drive, Valley Stream Road, Florence Road, and the Statesville Country Club.
Area Three – North of E. Broad Street and east of I-77, including Camelot Drive, N. Greenbriar Road, Marthas Ridge, and Simonton Road.
Area Four – North of E. Broad Street, between N. Center Street and south of I-77, including Knox Street, West End Avenue, Davie Avenue, and Sullivan Road.
Area Five – North of W. Front Street and west of N. Center Street, including Gregory Road, Ridgeway Avenue, Oakland Avenue, and the Mitchell Community College Historic District.

A detailed map of the collection areas is available at www.statesvillenc.net under the “Leaf Collection” Quick Link.

To assist with bagged disposal, the city will provide free 60-gallon leaf bags from November 3 through December 5, 2025. Each household may receive up to two rolls. Additional rolls of 10 will be available for purchase at $1 per roll through December 22. Pick-up locations include the Customer Service Department at 301 S. Center Street, the Statesville Fitness & Activity Center at 1875 Simonton Road, and the Bentley Community Center at 324 Wilmington Avenue. These bags are for leaf collection only and not for household garbage. Bagged leaves will be collected with weekly garbage service.

Collection guidelines request that residents place leaves at the edge of their yard, not in streets or on sidewalks, and keep piles free of sticks or other debris. Vehicles should not be parked near leaf piles, and leaves should be kept clear of storm drains and water meters.

The city notes that collection may be affected by weather conditions. Updates will be shared on the city’s website. Landscape contractors are responsible for removing any piles they create.
