Construction on the Statesville Police Department Expansion and Parking Garage Project continues to move forward as crews work in several areas of the site.
For the parking garage portion, crane operations are expected to wrap up by the end of November. Once the crane is removed, DELCO will begin installing the storm drain system on Tradd Street, which should allow the street to reopen by mid-December. Substantial completion of the parking garage is projected for March 31, 2026.
Work on the Police Department expansion is also progressing. Preparation for the post-tension slab and slab-on-grade is scheduled to begin next week, with backfilling around the CMU block wall expected to start in mid-November. Interior renovation work inside the existing Police Department building is planned to begin the week of November 17, 2025. Substantial completion of the expansion is currently targeted for August 28, 2026.
