STATESVILLE, NC – On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at approximately 7:10 p.m., a Statesville Police Department officer was involved in a traffic collision while responding to a separate vehicle crash involving injuries.
According to authorities, the officer was traveling southbound on Turnersburg Highway with emergency lights and siren activated. As the officer entered the intersection at Glenway Drive, a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado traveling westbound on Glenway Drive crossed Turnersburg Highway toward Sunset Hill Road. The police vehicle collided with the Silverado, causing it to overturn and strike a 2018 Dodge Journey that was stopped at the traffic light.
Both the officer and the driver of the Silverado sustained minor injuries and were transported to Iredell Memorial Hospital for evaluation. No injuries were reported from the driver of the Dodge Journey.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene and is conducting the investigation. Any inquiries related to the ongoing investigation are being directed to the NC State Highway Patrol.
