STATESVILLE, N.C. — A Statesville police officer has been arrested and charged with domestic violence-related offenses, according to the Statesville Police Department.
Officer Anthony Jerome Irving was taken into custody on December 30, 2024, and charged with misdemeanor domestic violence and assault on a female by a male over the age of 18.
Following the arrest, Irving was placed on administrative leave, a standard procedure during internal investigations.
In a statement, Statesville Police Chief David Onley emphasized the department’s commitment to accountability and professionalism:
“The Statesville Police Department is committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and accountability. Any allegations of criminal behavior involving our personnel are taken with the utmost seriousness and will be addressed appropriately.”
Irving joined the Statesville Police Department in February 2024.
The incident remains under investigation.
