Statesville Police Investigate Series of Armed Robberies

On Sunday, January 12, 2025, at approximately 7:45 PM, officers with the Statesville Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Dollar General located at 1500 W. Front Street. Employees reported that two Black males entered the store, demanded money, and left shortly after being unable to access the store’s safe.

While officers were investigating the incident, a second armed robbery was reported at 8:15 PM at the Dollar General located at 922 Shelton Avenue. The suspects in this robbery matched the description from the earlier incident. During the second robbery, a small amount of cash and various tobacco products were stolen. Fortunately, no employees were harmed in either incident.

Following an investigation by the Statesville Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit, 23-year-old Chance Jalieb Jamison, a Statesville resident, was identified as a suspect in both robberies. Investigators also connected Jamison to an armed robbery that occurred on January 5, 2025, at the Dollar General located at 1703 Wilkesboro Highway.

As a result of these investigations, outstanding warrants have been issued for Jamison on the following charges:

  • 3 Counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
  • 2 Counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon
  • 1 Count of Attempted Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon
  • 2 Counts of Felony Conspiracy
  • 1 Count of Second-Degree Kidnapping

Jamison also has outstanding warrants from neighboring agencies and remains at large.
