21-year-old Kyo Te Xiong of Deerchase Circle in Statesville has been arrested by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office following an investigation into the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material. Xiong is charged with one count of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and three counts of felony third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began on September 2, 2025, after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) submitted a CyberTip reporting the potential sharing of illegal material online. The case was assigned to detectives in the Special Victims Unit, who identified Xiong as the suspect.

Detectives obtained and executed multiple search warrants for Xiong’s social media accounts. During the searches, investigators reportedly found digital evidence linking him to the possession and sharing of child sexual abuse material.

Xiong was taken into custody on October 17, 2025, and booked into the Iredell County Detention Center under a $75,000 secured bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for November 4.

The investigation remains active, and officials say additional charges may be filed as evidence is reviewed.
