On January 5, 2025, officers from the Mooresville Police Department (MPD) responded to a reported armed robbery at Walgreens Pharmacy on River Highway. According to investigators, a suspect presented a note to the pharmacist, claimed he was armed, and demanded Fentanyl and Oxycodone.
Following a detailed investigation, MPD detectives identified 31-year-old Keith Brandon Cunningham of Statesville as the suspect. On January 14, 2025, MPD detectives, with assistance from the Statesville Police Department, executed two search warrants in Statesville and subsequently arrested Cunningham.
Cunningham has been charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and is currently being held without bond. Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.
