Statesville FC — the community’s new National Premier Soccer League team — will hold its first round of open tryouts this weekend as the club begins building its inaugural 2026 roster.
The three-day tryout event kicks off Friday evening, continues Saturday morning and wraps up Sunday afternoon.
As part of the busy weekend, the club will also launch its first official fan march during the Statesville Christmas Parade. To celebrate the milestone, the team’s ownership group is inviting residents from Statesville and surrounding communities to gather at the Statesville High School stadium after the parade on Sunday for a free match.
The exhibition game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. kickoff and will showcase prospective players competing for a spot on Statesville FC’s first-ever NPSL squad.
Fans attending Sunday’s match will also have the chance to purchase official club merchandise for the first time.
