Sheriff Provides Update on Ongoing Fall Drug Crackdown

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office has released additional details about its Fall Narcotics Enforcement Operation. The initiative stems from a months-long investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and ACE Team into individuals suspected of selling or distributing illegal narcotics throughout Iredell County.

The enforcement action carried out yesterday targeted individuals identified through ongoing investigations, citizen complaints, and community tips. Detectives conducted undercover operations, surveillance, and follow-up investigations to locate drug houses and repeat offenders believed to be contributing to criminal activity in the area.

Deputies sought a total of 54 individuals on various felony and misdemeanor drug charges. So far, 33 have been taken into custody. After arrest, each individual appeared before a magistrate, who reviewed the charges and set bond. The remaining 21 individuals are still wanted by the Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Darren Campbell said the arrests represent months of coordinated investigative work. He stated that each person arrested either sold controlled substances to undercover officers, facilitated illegal drug activity, or possessed narcotics in the presence of law enforcement. Campbell said the operation is part of an ongoing effort to curb drug-related crime in the county and to disrupt networks that bring narcotics and related violence into local communities.

Investigators from the Narcotics Division and ACE Team spent months documenting suspected illegal drug activity, supported by patrol deputies and other divisions within the agency. Sheriff Campbell credited both the deputies and the community members who supplied information that aided the investigation.

Citizens with information on individuals still wanted in connection with the operation can submit anonymous tips through the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office mobile app.

The names, charges, and photographs of the individuals arrested—and those who remain wanted—will be included in the Sheriff’s Office’s full release.
