Sheriff Darren E. Campbell Files for Re-Election in Iredell County

by | Dec 3, 2025

Sheriff Darren E. Campbell has officially filed to seek re-election as Sheriff of Iredell County. Campbell’s decision follows a period of reflection on his role and a continued focus on community safety.

Since first taking office in 2014, the Sheriff’s Office has reported a decline in crime in the county, despite ongoing population growth. Under Campbell’s leadership, the office has emphasized addressing career and repeat offenders, strengthening partnerships within the community, and prioritizing school safety. Officials say these efforts have contributed to progress in public safety throughout the county.

Sheriff Campbell stated that while there has been progress, there is still work to be done to maintain Iredell County as a safe place to live and work. He is asking for public support as he campaigns to continue in his role and further advance public safety initiatives.

“I am honored to serve alongside the men and women of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. Their dedication is unmatched, and together we are privileged to serve some of the finest citizens in the state of North Carolina,” Campbell said.
