Statesville, NC – The Statesville Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCVB) has announced the formation of a search committee to identify and appoint a new Executive Director by May 2025. For the past three years, all SCVB operations, including the Executive Director role, were managed by Spokeology, a local marketing agency led by Founder and CEO Cindy Sutton. Under Sutton’s leadership as Acting Executive Director, the SCVB successfully revitalized tourism in the Greater Statesville Area.
The search committee includes SCVB Board Members Pritesh Nagarji and Michelle Hepler, along with Richard Griggs, Statesville’s Director of Recreation and Parks. Sutton will lead the committee, ensuring a seamless transition as Spokeology concludes its contract in June 2025.
“The SCVB Board is grateful for Cindy Sutton’s dedication and leadership over the past three years,” said SCVB Board Chair Jay “Jimmy” Patel. “Her expertise has been instrumental in stabilizing and rebuilding tourism. Our goal is to have the new Executive Director in place by May 2025 to collaborate with Cindy during the transition.”
Reflecting on her tenure, Sutton expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the community. “It has been an honor to build relationships and advocate for Statesville,” said Sutton. “While I’ll focus on growing Spokeology, I’m confident the new Executive Director will continue to elevate Statesville tourism.”
