Construction on the Statesville Regional Airport Terminal Building is moving forward with several major components nearing completion.
According to project updates, the third-floor balcony roof has been completed, and work on elevators and rough-in electrical systems is substantially finished. Crews are continuing with guard rail posts, drywall, and framing for curtain walls. Insulation for exterior metal panels is being installed, the booster pump has been placed, and fire protection work is reported to be 95 percent complete.
Site improvements are also underway, including curb and gutter installation, clearing of the stormwater pond, and ongoing cleanup. Upcoming milestones include installation of knock-down doors, completion of main stair railings, and placement of the generator.
Officials noted that the substantial completion date has been adjusted to December 16, 2025, to accommodate storefront installation that will ensure the building remains weather-tight. Despite this schedule change, the project is described as remaining on track to provide a modern and functional terminal to serve the community in the years ahead.
