Progress Continues on Statesville Regional Airport Terminal Building Project

by | Oct 9, 2025

The Statesville Regional Airport Terminal Building project continues to move forward as construction remains on schedule, with substantial completion anticipated by December 9, 2025. Final work on punch list items is expected to wrap up by early February 2026, marking the final phase of the multi-year project.

According to project updates, construction crews have recently completed several major exterior components, including sidewalks, taxiway paving, and the installation of exterior wall panels. These steps represent key progress toward finishing the building’s structure and preparing it for operational use.

Inside the terminal, work has shifted toward interior finishes and critical systems. Crews are currently insulating walls and installing electrical systems, bathrooms, and other essential infrastructure. As part of the broader site development, work is also underway on landscaping, drainage systems, and parking lot improvements designed to enhance accessibility and safety for travelers and staff.

City officials have stated that the new terminal building is an important part of ongoing efforts to modernize the Statesville Regional Airport, which serves both business and general aviation needs in the area. The updated facility is expected to provide improved amenities for pilots, passengers, and airport personnel, as well as better accommodate increasing aviation activity in Iredell County.

Once complete, the terminal will include upgraded waiting areas, office and meeting spaces, and enhanced operational facilities. The improvements aim to support future economic growth by attracting additional aviation-related businesses and improving services for existing users.

As construction continues through the fall and into winter, officials say the project remains on track and that visible progress will continue as the terminal nears completion. The finished facility is expected to open in early 2026 following final inspections and equipment installation.
