Work is moving forward on the Statesville Police Department Expansion and Parking Deck project.
According to city officials, crews are continuing with foundation and concrete wall work, including the removal of forms from previously poured walls. The south elevation is scheduled to be poured by the end of the week.
Storm drain installation has begun along Front Street, and demolition work is also underway at the Police Department building. This includes the removal of the lower-level awning and basement entrance, as well as modifications to the interior handicapped ramp to accommodate ongoing construction.
A crane is scheduled to be set up during the week of September 15, 2025, with pre-cast concrete deliveries beginning September 22. Deliveries will be made from Front Street initially before moving to Tradd Street. While this may create some additional congestion, city officials note the impact should be minimal as streets in the area are already closed.
