On January 15, 2025, Mooresville Police Department responded to the Mooresville Ford Dealership on East Plaza Drive for a report of a possible bomb/wired device found in a vehicle that was being serviced. The Cabarrus County Bomb Squad was called in and the owner of the vehicle was contacted. The vehicle is owned by a security company, Advanced Detection Technology, of Mooresville. They stated that the device is used for training purposes and was accidentally left inside the vehicle. They also confirmed that the device was not a threat to the public. Mooresville Police and the Cabarrus County Bomb Squad completed their investigation and cleared the scene at approximately 4:30 p.m.
