The Mooresville Police Department has charged eight individuals with internet crimes against children as part of Operation Millstone, a coordinated effort involving local, state, and federal agencies.
Operation Millstone included 78 personnel from 21 agencies and targeted suspects who used online platforms to solicit minors. Those arrested range in age from 25 to 91. The operation follows the 2024 initiative Operation Artemis, which resulted in 15 arrests.
Mooresville Police Chief Ron Campurciani described the individuals arrested in this operation as especially concerning and urged parents to monitor the apps their children use.
Participating agencies included the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Secret Service, NC SBI, and multiple sheriff’s offices and police departments across North and South Carolina.
