MOORESVILLE, NC – On August 21, 2025, the Mooresville Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence located at 311 S. Magnolia Street as part of an investigation into a stolen firearm.
Investigators identified Gregory Adam Newton, 41, of Mooresville, as the suspect in the theft. Police noted that Newton is a previously convicted felon.
During the search, detectives reported locating the stolen firearm along with approximately seven grams of methamphetamine. Newton was charged with felony larceny of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and felony possession of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance.
Newton is being held without bond at the Iredell County Jail.
