Mooresville Woman Faces Multiple Forgery and Identity Theft Charges

A Mooresville woman has been charged in connection with multiple forgery and identity theft offenses in Catawba County.

According to the Catawba County Sheriff’s Department, 32-year-old Kaitlyn Maria Gardner was charged on October 9 with several felony counts, including forgery of an instrument, identity theft, uttering a forged endorsement, and attempting to obtain property by false pretenses.

Gardner is facing charges in separate cases filed in Catawba County District Court in Newton. Her bonds were set at $15,000 for each of the identity theft and forgery charges.

Court records show her next scheduled appearances are on October 13 and October 30. The Catawba County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation.
