On August 30, 2025, Mooresville Police Department officers responded to a disturbance call on North Church Street. A vehicle connected to the incident was later located on Selma Drive with four occupants inside.
When officers attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle pulled into a residential driveway. Two occupants fled on foot, and one was seen with a handgun in his waistband while running. After a short pursuit, both individuals were apprehended. One was identified as 20-year-old Sirron Cordell Phiffer of Kings Mountain, and the other was a juvenile.
A Mooresville Police K-9 unit conducted a search in the area where Phiffer was detained and located a firearm. Phiffer was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon. He was issued a $2,500 bond. The juvenile was released to their parents.
The two occupants who remained inside the vehicle were also detained. Officers found a handgun under the driver’s seat. The driver, 23-year-old Caleb Tony Allison of Mooresville, was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon and multiple traffic offenses. According to police, Allison was already out on bond for previous charges and received no bond from the magistrate in this case.
Another passenger, identified as 18-year-old Yazyron Nyshod Troutman of Troutman, was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance.
