The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies responded to A&A Auto Sales on Turnersburg Highway shortly after midnight on Monday, August 25, 2025, in reference to a larceny in progress.
According to investigators, deputies quickly detained a suspect at the scene, identified as 34-year-old Jarvis Hamilton Edwards Jr. Edwards was found operating a lawnmower on the property. Deputies discovered that security cables securing multiple lawnmowers had been cut, and Edwards was in possession of a trailer containing three additional lawnmowers.
The business owner arrived on site and confirmed that no one had permission to be on the property. Deputies determined that a second male suspect fled the area before law enforcement arrived and has not yet been identified.
Further investigation revealed that both the truck and trailer in Edwards’ possession had been reported stolen from Mecklenburg County. Deputies also reported Edwards was found with a firearm and burglary tools.
Edwards was arrested and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was issued no bond.
Sheriff Darren Campbell encouraged business owners to take steps to protect their property. He noted that the Sheriff’s Office provides free business threat assessments, where detectives will review security measures and make recommendations to help prevent crime.
