Iredell County Warns Residents of Fraudulent Rezoning Emails

by | Jun 4, 2025

Iredell County officials are alerting residents to a scam involving fraudulent emails that claim to be part of rezoning requests. The emails ask recipients to wire transfer money, but authorities stress that these messages are not legitimate.

Residents are reminded that all official county emails will end in @iredellcountync.gov, and application fees related to rezoning or other services are only accepted in person — never through email or wire transfers.

Anyone receiving a suspicious email is urged not to respond. Instead, report the incident to Iredell County Information Technology Services at 704-878-3063.

County officials emphasize the importance of remaining vigilant and verifying the authenticity of any request involving personal or financial information.
