Iredell County Unemployment Rate Holds Steady in March 2025

RALEIGH — According to data released by the North Carolina Department of Commerce, Iredell County recorded an unemployment rate of 3.4 percent in March 2025, reflecting stable economic conditions in the region. The county’s labor force was reported at 104,067, with 3,521 individuals classified as unemployed.

Statewide, not seasonally adjusted unemployment rates decreased in 43 counties, increased in 29, and remained unchanged in 28. The statewide unemployment rate was 3.7 percent. Among North Carolina’s 100 counties, Hyde County reported the highest unemployment rate at 6.8 percent, while Camden County had the lowest at 2.8 percent.

When compared to the same period last year, unemployment rates increased in 44 counties, decreased in 30, and remained unchanged in 26. The number of employed workers across the state increased by 30,225 in March, reaching a total of 5,105,044. The number of unemployed individuals decreased slightly by 191 to 195,211.

Officials note that employment data is not seasonally adjusted and may reflect regular fluctuations related to seasonal hiring. For that reason, over-the-year comparisons offer a more accurate view of longer-term trends.
