The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office has expanded its lake patrol operations to include Lake Lookout, repurposing a patrol vessel to enhance law enforcement presence and emergency response capabilities. The move aims to improve safety across the lake’s 13 miles of shoreline within Iredell County.

Sheriff Darren Campbell emphasized the importance of this expansion, citing the county’s growing lake communities and the need for increased resources. The center console boat will allow deputies to conduct regular patrols, reduce response times, and provide greater security for boaters, residents, and visitors.

This effort is part of a larger initiative to strengthen law enforcement coverage across Iredell County’s major waterways, ensuring a quicker and more effective response to emergencies.
