IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — A Cleveland, North Carolina, resident has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies related to the alleged possession of media files depicting child sexual exploitation.
The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office announced on Thursday the arrest of 37-year-old Shawn Phillip Pulver following an investigation prompted by a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). According to deputies, the report identified suspicious activity linked to an account on the Kik messaging platform.
Through their investigation, law enforcement determined Pulver was the account holder. A search warrant for his Kik account reportedly uncovered several files containing illegal material.
Pulver has been charged with 10 felony counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was taken into custody on December 27, 2024, and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center. His bond was set at $350,000 secured.
The Sheriff’s Office noted that Pulver had a prior misdemeanor charge related to entering a restricted zone on game lands.
The investigation remains active, and deputies indicated that additional charges may be filed as the case develops.
