The Iredell County Emergency Communications and the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office have announced the implementation of RapidSOS 911 Live Video, a new technology aimed at improving emergency response efforts across the county.
The system enables 911 callers to stream live video from their devices directly to emergency dispatchers and responders. This real-time visual access allows officials to better assess situations before arriving on scene, leading to quicker and more informed decision-making.
Callers who choose to participate receive a secure link to initiate the live video stream. The added perspective is intended to enhance situational awareness and improve the speed and safety of emergency responses.
Sheriff Darren Campbell called the launch a significant advancement for public safety, stating that live video access could help save lives. Communications Director Candy Miller noted the system represents a commitment to using modern tools to better serve residents.
The introduction of RapidSOS 911 Live Video highlights Iredell County’s focus on using technology to strengthen emergency services and public safety operations.
