IREDELL COUNTY – Last week, the Iredell County Board of Commissioners held budget work sessions with county leadership to review and discuss the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2025–2026. Following several sessions, an agreement on the proposed budget was reached.
The board’s decision advances the budget process, allowing for a public hearing to be scheduled in June. This hearing will provide an opportunity for residents to share their input before the budget is formally adopted. The county aims to finalize and adopt the budget by the start of the new fiscal year on July 1.
The work sessions focused on funding priorities across various departments and services, with an emphasis on maintaining fiscal responsibility while supporting community needs.
Details about the proposed budget and the date of the public hearing are expected to be announced by the county in the coming weeks.
