Iredell County Burn Ban Lifted

by | Apr 3, 2025

The local burn ban for all unincorporated areas of Iredell County, as well as the towns of Harmony, Troutman, and Love Valley, has been lifted effective 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 2. This decision was announced by Iredell County Fire Marshal David Souther following the North Carolina Forest Service’s decision to lift the statewide burn ban.

The statewide ban had been in effect since March 21 due to hazardous fire conditions. Recent rainfall across the state has reduced the risk of wildfires, making it safe to resume open burning activities.

Fire Marshal Souther advised residents to continue practicing caution, as spring remains wildfire season in North Carolina. He emphasized the importance of following safe burning practices despite the lifted ban.

Residents conducting open burning are reminded to adhere to local regulations and secure the necessary permits. For more information, contact the Iredell County Fire Marshal’s Office at 704-878-3035.
