Government offices across Iredell County—and city offices in Mooresville, Troutman, Statesville, and surrounding areas—will close on Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
Affected services include:
- County departments: Animal Services and Control (emergencies only), Social Services (Mooresville and Statesville offices), Elections Office, Government Center (Administration & Finance), ICATS transit (offices closed, no routes), Public Health (Mooresville and Statesville, including mobile clinics), Register of Deeds, Tax Office, Veteran Services, and the Solid Waste Facility, which will reopen July 5.
- Public libraries: All branches—including Statesville, Harmony, and Troutman—will be closed on July 4 and reopen on July 5.
Park and recreation updates:
- Recreation Center: Open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 4
- Parks: Open dawn to dusk
- Seasonal pool: Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Offices are scheduled to reopen on Monday, July 7.
Residents are advised to plan ahead, as ICATS transit services will be unavailable on the holiday and county library services won’t resume until after July 4. For animal-related emergencies, Animal Control Officers will still respond—call 704‑878‑5335 if needed.
