On May 18, 2025, the Police Department was notified of a theft involving the Walk of Heroes display on the Richardson Greenway. Witnesses reported that individuals in a green Mercury Sable had removed one of the flags from the display.
Following the report, officers launched an investigation and were able to identify the individuals involved. Through the course of the investigation, officers gathered sufficient evidence to pursue charges related to the incident.
As a result, a juvenile petition has been requested for a juvenile suspect in connection with the offense of misdemeanor larceny. Additionally, a warrant has been issued for 38-year-old Jessica Poole on charges of aiding and abetting misdemeanor larceny and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The warrant for Poole is currently pending service.
The Police Department expressed appreciation for the assistance of witnesses who came forward with information that contributed to the progress of the case.
