TROUTMAN, N.C. — Multiple fire departments in Iredell County responded to a structure fire on the 100 block of Sierra Woods Drive in Troutman yesterday afternoon. The Troutman Fire Department led the response, with the Denver Fire Department assisting by deploying Fireboat 13 to supply water from the lake to engines on scene.
The fire heavily involved a three-story lake house. Reports indicated an explosion occurred inside the home, and all firefighting efforts were conducted from the exterior.
Officials confirmed that, fortunately, no injuries were reported. The occupants were able to evacuate safely before emergency crews arrived.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the origin as part of standard procedure following residential fires.
Residents in the area were reminded to exercise caution with fire and smoke sources, especially during the winter months when heating systems and holiday activities increase fire risk.
