North Carolina – FEMA announced Monday that it is extending its Transitional Sheltering Assistance (TSA) Program to January 25. The program, originally set to expire on Tuesday, provides temporary housing assistance, such as hotel or motel stays, for residents displaced by Hurricane Helene.
This extension gives households additional time to secure alternative housing or complete necessary repairs to their homes. FEMA reports that more than 3,000 families in North Carolina are eligible for the extended assistance.
Residents currently enrolled in the program are encouraged to work closely with FEMA to ensure a smooth transition as the new deadline approaches.
