by | Feb 7, 2025

STATESVILLE, NC – On Friday, February 7, 2025, multiple emergency response agencies will conduct a full-scale disaster training exercise at Northview Academy. The drill will take place from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and will involve personnel from the Statesville Police Department, Statesville Fire Department, Troutman Police Department, and Iredell-Statesville Schools.

Throughout the day, a significant presence of law enforcement and fire personnel will be visible on the school’s campus. Traffic barricades and police training signs will be posted in front of the school, though officials do not anticipate any road closures.

As part of the exercise, emergency responders will engage in simulated crisis scenarios, which will include mock gunfire and staged injuries. Officials emphasize that no students will participate in the drill; all role players will be trained adult staff members.

Authorities stress the importance of such exercises in enhancing emergency preparedness, improving coordination among agencies, and strengthening overall community safety.

Residents in the area are advised to be aware of the training but should not be alarmed by the presence of emergency vehicles and personnel. For further information, individuals can contact the Iredell-Statesville Schools or the participating emergency agencies.
