Drivers in Mooresville should plan ahead for a temporary road closure later this week as crews complete water and sewer tap installations along a section of E. Mills Avenue.
According to town officials, E. Mills Avenue between Kistler Street and E. Brawley Avenue will be closed to through traffic from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. this week while the utility work is underway. The closure is necessary to allow crews to safely complete upgrades to the town’s water and sewer system.
Detour routes will be clearly marked to help motorists navigate around the work zone. Drivers are encouraged to use caution, follow posted signs, and allow for extra time when traveling in the area, especially during morning and afternoon rush hours.
Access for local residents and emergency vehicles will remain available, but town officials recommend avoiding the area if possible to reduce congestion and delays.
The road is expected to reopen by 5 p.m. the same day once the work is complete. A detour graphic has been shared to assist travelers with planning alternate routes.
