The Statesville Police Department is teaming up with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 26. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Walgreens located at 951 Davie Avenue in Statesville.
Residents are encouraged to bring unwanted, unused, or expired medications for safe disposal. This includes syringes and sharps, which will be accepted exclusively at this location.
Organizers remind participants that liquid medications, such as cough syrup, should be tightly sealed in their original containers before being dropped off.
The initiative aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of prescription drugs, while also raising awareness about the potential for misuse and environmental harm.
