Drought Watch Issued for Catawba-Wateree River Basin

by | Apr 9, 2025

The Catawba-Wateree Drought Management Advisory Group has designated the Catawba-Wateree River Basin under Stage 0 of its drought protocol due to recent dry weather and lower-than-normal streamflow levels.

Stage 0 represents a drought watch, which serves as an early alert for member communities to monitor conditions more closely. At this stage, there are no mandatory actions required for residents.

While no restrictions are in place, officials encourage residents to use this opportunity to be mindful of water and energy conservation.
